The new 911 Carrera S

Timeless design.
A timeless design, a contemporary interpretation. The unmistakable silhouette of the 911 is characterised by its iconic flyline. It has barely changed since 1963, and has shaped the DNA of all Porsche models. Including, of course, the 911 Cabriolet and Targa models.

A clear line.
Elegant. Puristic. Unmistakable: in 1963, F. A. Porsche achieved great success with the 911 silhouette. With clear lines and the unity of form and function. Over 50 years later, the world knows many sports cars. But only one 911.
The new 911 Carrera S
The Coupé version of the 911 embodies Porsche DNA in its purest form: the long, flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen. And the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear, already characterised the original 911.
The new 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
The open-top variant of the 911 has always been characterised by a heightened feeling of freedom and plenty of fresh air. When closed, the Cabriolet has the elegant silhouette of the 911 Coupé models – thanks to its fully automatic fabric hood.
911 Targa 4S
The most stylish 911 model has the addition ‘targa’. With its characteristic roll-over bar and innovative roof concept, the 911 Targa is a timeless classic. And at the same time it is an open-top variant of the 911 with the comfort and safety of an enclosed car.

The most stylish 911 model has the addition ‘targa’. With its characteristic roll-over bar and innovative roof concept, the 911 Targa is a timeless classic. And at the same time it is an open-top variant of the 911 with the comfort and safety of an enclosed car.

The exterior in detail.

A design that unites traditional and modern. That ensures more dynamism on the road. And causes a sensation for everyone who follows the 911.

Design DNA.

Typically 911: the long, flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen and the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear. The wings are more clearly shaped, the rear is powerful and clearly emphasises the horizontal.

Light strip.

The seamless light strip with LED technology between the three-dimensional LED taillights characterises the appearance of all 911 models. And makes them unmistakable, even at night.

Targa bar.

An eye-catching and defining element of the 911 Targa models: the roll-over bar. It meets the highest safety requirements and has its own iconic character: with bar trims made of aluminium, lateral gills and the original ‘targa’ logo.

Wheels.

Agile and progressive: the 911 also appears particularly athletic due to the different wheel sizes at the front and rear. The up to 20/21-inch wheels offer more stability and comfort with the larger diameter on the rear axle.

Front headlights.

The shape and position of the main headlights are also reminiscent of the first 911 generations. The latest LED technology is used inside them.

Bonnet.

The bonnet with its characteristic dynamic recess profiles – and its straight slope to the front apron – is a reference to the earlier 911 models.

Door handles.

The new door handles are completely recessed into the doors and are therefore discretely integrated into the car’s image.

Wheels.

Tradition meets innovation: the interior.

Analogue precision combined with digital integration. The 911 interior combines old strengths with new possibilities and, as a sports car, is one thing above all: strictly designed for the driver.

Timeless design.

Progressive technology.

360 degree 911: Interior design.

The interior in detail.

Sports car ergonomics.

The analogue rev counter is positioned in the centre of the instrument cluster and, therefore, always in the driver’s line of sight. The ascending centre console ensures short distances between steering wheel and gear lever, and the intuitively placed switches and buttons. All for the unmistakable sensation of driving a 911.

Porsche Advanced Cockpit.

High-resolution displays, touch-sensitive buttons, consolidated functions. Thanks to the Porsche Advanced Cockpit control concept, the 911 interior has never been so focussed. Typical sports car: the buttons, which have been consciously kept as analogue buttons, offer direct access to essential drive and chassis functions.

Instrument cluster.

Left and right of the analogue rev counter are two high-resolution 7-inch displays with essential vehicle information – enhanced by the high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen display of Porsche Communication Management (PCM).

Materials.

From the gear selector to the air outlet: every surface, every detail is carefully considered and in high quality. There is virtually no end to the combination options of available material and equipment – your personal taste is the limit.

Porsche - Engine
Engine
The engine of the 911 models has a twin-turbo configuration. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power across the speed range, extraordinarily direct responsiveness and a wide torque plateau, even at low speeds. The horizontally opposed construction, with its short length, low height and position in the vehicle rear allows for a low centre of gravity. The engine mounts near the centre of the car ensure greater stability and fewer vibrations.
Turbochargers.
The engines have two turbochargers and charge-air cooling. It’s an important element of the exhaust turbocharging and greatly contributes to simultaneously increasing performance and reducing emissions.

Transmission.

Transmission.

8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).

The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power – in milliseconds. PDK combines a very sporty tuning in first to sixth gear with efficient overdrive ratios (seventh and eighth gear).

7-speed manual transmission.

The 7-speed manual transmission with Sport Chrono Package is available as an option for the 911 Carrera S models and the 911 Targa 4S. The short distances with optimum connection to the individual gears ensure a very direct link between driver and car. The Sport Chrono Package enables an even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission.

Porsche Traction Management (PTM).

All-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) optimally distributes drive force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. For excellent drive and an incredibly harmonious handling right at the limits.

Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus).

PTV Plus is a system intended to improve driving dynamics and stability. It works with a precise application of the brakes on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. For increased stability, outstanding traction and high agility at any speed.

Chassis systems.

More – of everything. The chassis systems optimise the vehicle features of the 911 and make it even faster, more agile and more comfortable.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

PASM is an electronic damping control system that actively and continuously controls the damping force, depending on the road conditions and driving mode, for each individual wheel. For more comfort with increased dynamics.

PASM sports suspension.

With the PASM sports suspension, the body is lowered a further 10mm in relation to the PASM chassis. The springs are harder and shorter, the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are stiffer. The spring rates have been significantly raised, giving the 911 a more neutral and balanced presence on the road.

Porsche Stability Management (PSM).

Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system for maintaining stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. For a high level of driving stability and safety – and extraordinary agility at the same time. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, PSM is supplemented by a Sport mode. This allows a significantly more sporty driving style, with PSM remaining active in the background.

Rear-axle steering.

Rear-axle steering enhances performance and suitability for everyday use in equal measure; by improving the handling during low-speed manoeuvres and making manoeuvres and turns easier. At the same time, the rear-axle steering gives significantly more driving stability during high-speed manoeuvres.

Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

PDCC is an active roll stabilisation system. It suppresses lateral body movement when cornering dynamically. For improved dynamic performance, even more neutral handling and increased ride comfort – whatever the speed.

Sport Chrono Package.

Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tyre temperature display. Its functions enable an even sportier tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.

Mode switch and SPORT Response button.
The mode switch allows you to select different driving styles, e.g. increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or aid driving on wet roads. The SPORT Response button prepares the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing of power for approx. 20 seconds of maximum responsiveness.

Brakes.
Brakes.

The brakes are matched to the high performance of the 911 models. In the 911 Carrera models, four-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers grip 330mm brake discs. In the Carrera S models, the front axle is equipped with six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers, and four-piston equivalents at the rear. The brake disc diameter is adapted to the increased power output, 350mm at the front and rear.

Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB).

Lighter, more stable, motorsport proven: the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) provides even greater braking performance thanks to ceramic brake discs with 410mm diameter at the front axle and 390mm at the rear axle. Another advantage: thanks to the extremely low weight of the brake discs, the traction and the comfort is significantly improved. The six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front, and four-piston units at the rear provide braking forces that are considerably more powerful and, crucially, are exceptionally consistent.

On the GT sports steering wheel, additional thumb rests and a top centre marking show its 911 motorsport genes.

Sports seats.

The 911 sports seats are comfortable and provide support even during dynamic cornering manoeuvres. The Sports seats Plus have an even sportier design. Here firmer side bolsters on the seat cushions and backrests increase lateral support. Another benefit: the fully electric seat adjustment with Memory Package for both seats – more comfort for driver and passenger.

Roof systems.

The Cabriolet models also have the classic 911 silhouette. They are equipped with a fully automatic fabric hood. The roof can be opened and closed in approx. 12 seconds. Up to a speed of 50km/h. It has a fixed glass rear screen and three integral magnesium elements that make it highly robust and yet particularly lightweight.

The Targa roof concept embodies the ideal combination of safety, comfort and design. When standing, the completely automatic roof system of the 911 Targa models opens and closes in just 19 seconds. The heatable rear screen made from weight optimised, composite safety glass and the sound-insulating roof lining ensure amazingly low driving noise when the car is closed.

The electrically adjustable slide/tilt sunroof, available for the Coupé models, creates even more space in your 911. A large area opens to the outside so that headroom is not restricted. The electric slide/tilt sunroof made of tinted toughened safety glass expands the sense of space, even when closed.

Sound Package Plus.

Sound Package Plus delivers excellent sound in your 911: thanks to eight loudspeakers and a total output of 150 watts.

BOSE® Surround Sound System.

12 loudspeakers and amplifier channels with 100-watt subwoofers integral to the vehicle bodyshell characterise the BOSE® Surround Sound System. The total output: 570 watts. The BOSE® SoundTrue Enhancement Technology ensures high audio quality and dynamics for compressed file formats.

Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System.

Sound performance of the highest level, individually matched to your 911. 13 amplifier channels, 13 loudspeakers, an active, separate subwoofer with 300-watt class D amplifier. All together: 855 watts of pure musical pleasure additionally; improved by the sound enhancer that optimises the tone of data-compressed music files.

Well connected – yet still completely independent.
Porsche Connect*.

We need to get the most out of every day. Porsche Connect helps you do this. It puts you in the ideal starting position for every drive in your 911. And the services in the car and the Porsche Connect app for your smartphone are the perfect co-pilots for your everyday life.

Smart on the road. In your sports car and everyday life. Apple CarPlay.

With Porsche Connect you use numerous apps on your iPhone via PCM. Thanks to the connection via Apple CarPlay, apps such as phone, music or news, can be easily while on the move.

Always the best on the road. Navigation Plus.

Thanks to Real-time Traffic Information, you’ll always be on the fastest route. The online navigation has the advantage of accessing daily updated map material and at the same time taking into account all the relevant real-time traffic reports. The route planning via PCM, however, does not require a data connection and is always available.

Always stay connected. Remote Services.

With the Remote Services, you always have an easy overview: access vehicle data or control specific vehicle functions, such as locking the car from a distance with your smartphone.

* The Porsche Connect range varies according to model and country availability. The information on this page is intended to provide you with a general overview. For service availability in your vehicle, log into the Connect Store with your Porsche ID.

The main headlights and taillights of 911 models are fitted with cutting edge LED technology. For fast responsiveness and powerful illumination. An unusual feature of all 911 models: the four-point daytime running lights and dipped beam, and the seamless light strip at the rear.

The LED headlights with matrix beam technology deactivate specific segments of the permanent main-beam cone so as not to blind oncoming traffic or cars in front of you. The areas in between and next to them are fully illuminated. The electronic cornering lights illuminate the curves optimally by switching individual LEDs on or off.

Your surroundings at a glance.

A rare luxury these days: being able to concentrate exclusively on what's directly in front of you. The open road. Or the next corner. The 911 provides you with support in the form of multiple assistance systems which allow you to remain truly in the moment.

Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control.*

Thanks to high-precision navigation data, Porsche InnoDrive identifies speed limits and road gradients such as slopes or curve radii on your route, before you reach them. And adapts the gear change strategy and speed. For intelligent driving and a clear efficiency advantage.

* The assistance provided by Porsche InnoDrive is subject to system limitations. The driver must monitor driving style at all times and intervene in cases of doubt. The system can be overridden at any time by use of the brake or accelerator pedal.

Adaptive cruise control.

The system adapts the speed of your 911 depending on the distance to vehicle in front of you. If you approach another vehicle that is travelling slower than your selected cruising speed, the system slows the engine or gently applies the brakes. Even down to a halt. As soon as the road ahead clears, your 911 will accelerate back up to the cruising speed originally set.

Lane Keeping Assist including traffic sign recognition.

Lane Keeping Assist eases the burden on you by providing steering assistance, helping to keep the vehicle in lane. Traffic sign recognition displays speed limits, ‘no overtaking’ zones and indirect information, such as boundary signs, in the instrument cluster. The cornering notification displays an arrowed direction warning on the instrument cluster, alerting you to tight corners. Long before you reach them.

Night Vision Assist.

Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and large wildlife before they are illuminated by the headlights. A thermal image in the instrument cluster warns the driver.

Porsche WET-Mode.*

With ‘WET’ mode, the 911 uses an innovative system that aids you when driving in the wet. If the sensors in the front wheel housing detect wet roads, the system will recommend switching to ‘WET mode’. The chassis control systems and the responsiveness of the drivetrain will then be adapted to the circumstances.

* The ‘WET’ driving programme is not a substitute for adopting an appropriate driving manner in different road and weather conditions, and is, at the most, an aid for the driver.

ParkAssist with Surround View.

ParkAssist supports you when parking and manoeuvring. Surround View displays the area around your 911 from different camera perspectives and generates a virtual bird’s eye view of the car and displays this on the PCM screen.

Back in time.

Back in time.

The 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. Limited to 992 units. This reinterprets the design elements of the 50s and early 60s, and combines these with the latest sports car technology of the 911 Targa 4S.

The highlights.

Cherry Metallic.

Exclusive colour for a 911: Cherry Metallic. Intense and high-quality, it works in perfect harmony with the silver-coloured Targa bar and the gold-coloured logos.

Gold-coloured logos.

Individual signatures are unique – and sometimes worth their weight in gold. Like the Targa logo and the gold-coloured logos on the rear, which are not only a tribute to past times but also defining features.

1963 Crest.

It's not just what’s under the skin that is important; it's also about what's on top. The 1963 Porsche Crest is proudly presented on the bonnet, the Sports steering wheel, the key and the wheel centres of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition.

Heritage Design plaque.

A quality seal which, as a new edition, adorns the engine lid once again: the Heritage Design plaque. It was awarded in the 50s for excellent engine performance.

Personalised start number.

A big number? Porsche was from the beginning. That’s why the sides of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition are adorned with your choice of an optional, individual start number, inspired by early motorsport series.

Two-tone leather interior.

Choose from two different colour combinations. Both ensure a harmonious overall look: two-tone Bordeaux Red leather and Atacama Beige OLEA club leather or two-tone black leather and Atacama Beige OLEA club leather.

Corduroy Atacama Beige.

The material of dreams of the past is revived in the interior: elegant corduroy in Atacama Beige graces the door centre panels and the seat centres – invoking the spirit and the fashion of the 50s.

Limited edition plaque.

One of a select few: the plaque on the dashboard trim is a reference to the limited number of 992 units – and to the new 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition: the Icon of Cool.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

Sometimes it’s the little things that unleash big emotions. Like the embossed “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” logo on the lid of the storage compartment.

Instrument cluster.

Almost like going back in time: the instrument cluster featuring two high-resolution 7-inch displays and an analogue rev counter, classically styled with a needle. With white needles and increment markings – for maximum contrast. And with green numbers – as a tribute to the legendary Porsche 356.

Roof lining.

The interior is also reminiscent of the past: perforated Alcantara® in Atacama Beige graces the roof lining and the A and B pillars. A piece of Porsche history to touch.

ROCK ’N’ ROLL on the wrist.

A tribute to the 50s and early 60s: the Porsche Design Chronograph 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. Exclusively for the vehicle owners. Limited to 992 pieces.
