800-volt architecture.

The Porsche soul stands for performance. In every respect. As demonstrated by the Taycan, even when charging: its 800-volt architecture produces charge power of up to 270kW. We instantly know what is good for our soul – and what inspires it. The Taycan reveals its fascination within fractions of a second: with a fluid yet sharp silhouette and a dynamic flyline. Timeless, puristic, instantly recognisable. Three design attributes that describe every Porsche – including the Taycan, which takes our DNA into a new automotive era.

Highlights.

Aircurtains.

Lateral air intakes ahead of the front wheels – so-called aircurtains – also improve the aerodynamics, by guiding incoming air over the wheels like a curtain, thereby reducing turbulence.

Four-point LED headlights.

The floating design of the new headlights gives the Taycan a distinctive identity, while the four-point LED signature is an unmistakable expression of Porsche DNA.

Deploying door handles.

The silhouette is characterised by a dynamic, flat flyline. Flush, automatically extending door handles open the vehicle interior with its deep, sporty seating position.

Panoramic fixed glass roof.

There are two roof options: the contoured variant made of lightweight aluminium with an indentation in the middle creates a shape that is known to us from motorsport. Alternatively, a panoramic fixed glass roof provides an open, airy feeling.

Rear design.

The rear design features a seamless light strip made of glass, as well as the ‘Porsche’ logo in glass look. Above these are the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) in the form of a three-stage rear spoiler system.

Seat.

Low and sporty. The seat position in the Taycan is derived from the 911. Optionally available in 14 and 18 way configurations, for maximum adjustability and comfort.

Multifunction sports steering wheel.

If the standard multifunction sports steering wheel is not sporty enough, you can maximise the motorsport feel with the optional multifunction GT sports steering wheel: it features a mode switch, as well as a top centre marking.

Advanced Climate Control.

The innovative Advanced Climate Control air conditioning (dual or four-zone) may not be visible, but is certainly noticeable: slat-free air outlets enable precise airflow and distribution.

Luggage compartment.

As well as the 84-litre luggage compartment at the front for smaller items, the rear boot in the Taycan and Taycan 4S also provides 407 litres¹ of storage space that can be flexibly expanded, thanks to individually folding rear seat backrests. In other words: the Taycan is a highly sophisticated electric sports car. And yet, like all its predecessors, totally suitable for everyday use.

Cockpit.

A new innovative digital concept has almost completely replaced physical switches. The result is a cleaner, sleeker appearance with increased functionality. The same principle of digital simplification also applies to the displays – intuitive, customisable and easy to use without distraction.

16.8-inch curved display.

The arrangement is also driver-focused, as is typical of Porsche: the instrument cluster is the centre of attention, consisting of a 16.8-inch curved display and surrounded by control panels with Direct Touch Control for selecting lighting and chassis functions.

Communication Management.

Your central control unit for audio, navigation and communication: redesigned Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including online navigation. The PCM display on the 10.9-inch central dashboard can be individually configured, allowing direct access to the most important functions.

8.4-inch centre console control panel.

This provides access to navigation, media, telephone, settings and Apple CarPlay via a menu bar which can be disabled. The luggage compartment and charging flaps can also be opened and closed from here. The charging display and battery charge status can also be viewed.

Emotionally charged and future-oriented.

What applied to the legendary model 356 in 1948 applies equally to the Taycan today: an innovative vehicle concept that showcases the ultimate expression of the sports car for today and tomorrow.

Battery and drive.

Performance Battery Plus.

The Taycan battery exploits its huge potential by means of pouch cells, chemically optimised for maximum performance with a long range. The large version (Performance Battery Plus) is installed in the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S and has 33 modules with a total of 396 cells. The more compact Performance Battery that is fitted as standard in the Taycan and Taycan 4S produces its energy from 28 modules with a total of 336 cells.

The battery is also based on 800-volt technology instead of the usual 400 volts. The effect: improved charging and drive performance with smaller cable cross-sections, which has a positive impact on the overall weight.** The cooling system ensures that the drive is optimally supplied with energy in any situation. And an extremely robust battery frame ensures maximum safety even in the event of an accident.

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors.

The key to designing an outstanding drive was the systematic continuation of the purpose-design approach: no compromises with the perfect interaction of drive components. Two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors are therefore installed in the Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S – one on each axle – and the Performance Battery Plus¹ is integrated deep in the underbody. The effect: superior driving dynamics and all-wheel drive that can be optimally adjusted to the fluctuation between efficiency and dynamics in the various driving modes.**

Switching two-speed transmission.

The concept of the permanent magnet synchronous motor provides high power density, high continuous output and high efficiency in a compact design. A newly developed, automatically switching two-speed transmission on the rear axle ensures noticeably improved dynamics.

The interaction of the drive components produces impressive performance figures, both technically and emotionally: with up to 560kW (761PS) overboost is activated with Launch Control, both machines accelerate the Taycan Turbo S from a standstill to 62mph in 2.8 seconds. And this can be repeatedly reproduced: consecutive acceleration is possible, up to a top speed of 161mph.

Recuperation.

Porsche Recuperation Management (PRM) works innovatively and can regenerate up to 90% of braking energy. This means, during active braking, recuperation is enabled first and the mechanical brake is only engaged when stronger braking is required – intelligently controlled by a braking system that is capable of blending.

With an outstanding recuperation output of up to 265kW, energy can be fed back into the battery in the Taycan. Or to be more precise: during sporty, everyday driving, for example, you will achieve up to a third of your range exclusively from recuperation. With recuperation braking from 124mph to 0, electrical energy can be recovered for a range of over 2 miles.**

Active Aerodynamics.

The Taycan features Porsche Active Aerodynamics, consisting of an adaptive rear spoiler and adjustable front cooling air intakes. Depending on the situation and driving mode, the rear spoiler can extend in three positions, to continually balance maximum efficiency with dynamic performance.

Brakes.

Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) as fitted to the Taycan Turbo combines a cast-iron brake disc with a ceramic coating. The brakes not only boast white calipers, other advantages include improved corrosion resistance of the brake discs, even after a longer period of standstill, and considerably less brake dust formation. The result: the wheels and brake system stay clean for longer.

Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB).

Or choose the extremely lightweight Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) – standard on the Taycan Turbo S. Our high-performance brake has its origins in motorsport and enables short braking distances in even the toughest conditions.

Porsche Electric Sport Sound.

Acoustically too, the Taycan provides an entirely new experience: it makes virtually no noise – all you can hear is the exterior sound that meets the legal requirements. For a unique acoustic accompaniment to dynamic driving, there is also the optional Porsche Electric Sport Sound – a system whose innovative character makes the vehicle’s own drive sound appear even more emotional, both outside and inside. The ideal feedback for your right foot.

Chassis.

Adaptive air suspension.

Adaptive air suspension ensures a perfect balance between comfort and performance. For optimum aerodynamics and, last but not least, an improved drag coefficient: increased range with maximum performance.

Smart Lift.

The new Smart Lift function provides additional convenience. This innovative feature allows the chassis level to be automatically lifted at locally programmable points. In addition, an efficiency-based levelling strategy is automatically used on motorways.

Rear-axle steering.

Rear-axle steering steers¹ the rear wheels in the same or the opposite direction to the front wheels, depending on the speed. This has the virtual effect of shortening or extending the wheelbase – depending on the situation. For increased stability at high speed, improved lateral acceleration on country roads and a reduced turning circle in everyday situations.

Dynamic Chassis Control Sport.

The roll stabilisation of Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) also ensures sporty dynamics. This system, which is also used in other model ranges, almost entirely offsets lateral body inclination, thereby allowing the wheels to hold the road better. It also reduces lateral instability on uneven ground.

Torque Vectoring Plus.

Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus)¹ enhances driving dynamics and stability. Depending on the steering angle and driving speed, accelerator pedal position, yaw rate and speed, it improves the steering behaviour and accuracy by precisely applying brake pressure to the left or right rear wheel.

The Porsche Charging Eco-System perfectly complements the Taycan to ensure you are able to charge at home, while you are travelling and when you arrive at your end destination. For most drivers, the majority of charging will take place at home and we offer a range of intelligent charging solutions to help support your everyday requirements. Along with our partners, such as IONITY, we offer access to a growing number of public charge points easily activated by an RFID card or app, via the Porsche Charging Service. In addition, selected Porsche Centres will be equipped with high-performance Porsche Turbo Chargers, which allow the Taycan to achieve up to 62 miles of range in around 6 minutes (WLTP) under optimum conditions¹. Porsche Charging Dock.

The optional Porsche Charging Dock is an elegant wall mounting solution for your Porsche Mobile Charger Connect¹. The charging hardware can be easily clipped in to the dock and connected to either a standard household socket, or dedicated industrial socket, to provide a secure and stylish home charge point.

Voice Pilot.

In the Taycan, Porsche Connect has been expanded to include innovative services. Above all, Voice Pilot, which uses the keyword, “Hey Porsche”, to provide a natural, intuitive native speech recognition. Your car will respond to statements such as “I’m cold” and multimodal operation using both touch and voice commands: point to the map and say “Start navigation”, for example.

Functions on Demand.

Power Steering Plus.

At Porsche, everything revolves around perfect road holding – and therefore around driving enjoyment. Power Steering Plus increases this even further. It adjusts the steering dynamically to your speed: possible at both high and low speeds.

Porsche InnoDrive.

The combination of an assistance system with driving pleasure. Street signs and the course of the road are recognised in advance and speed is adjusted accordingly. When you use the direction indicator, the intention to turn is recognised and your speed is automatically reduced.

Active Lane Keeping.

Keep on the right track. When travelling at high speeds, continuous steering interventions keep you in the middle of your lane. Your vehicle provides support even at low speeds in traffic jams and follows the course of the road.

Assistance systems.

Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control.

As part of the intelligent Porsche InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control, the system increases its predictive horizon to up to 2 miles. With the aid of navigational data and information supplies by radar and camera sensors, it determines speed limits and topographical features in advance, and adjusts speed and drive strategy to suit the selected driving mode.

Active Lane Keep & Traffic Jam Assist.

Active Lane Keeping, which uses longitudinal and lateral control to help keep the Taycan in lane and regulate the distance from vehicles in front, is also an integral part of this system – as is Traffic Jam Assist, which keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane on congested roads, for greater comfort on longer journeys.

Lane Change Assist & Night Vision Assist.

Lane Change Assist indicates whether a vehicle is in your blind spot as you move to change lanes – extremely practical when driving on the motorway. And at night, Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to provide support – pedestrians and wildlife are displayed as thermal images and also highlighted in colour.

Surround View and Active Parking Assistance.

At the end of your journey, your vehicle has another feature: Active Parking Assistance takes over the steering of your Taycan, as well as the forward and reversing manoeuvres. Surround View 3D gives you optimum control when manually parking and leaving a parking space by allowing you to manage the perspective yourself. Manoeuvring Assist, Exit Warning and the Exit Manoeuvre Warning provide even more safety.

Online Search.

Your Taycan is not just fast on the road. It is also a high-speed search engine. Go online and search for destinations, restaurants or hotels. With lots of extra information such as reviews and prices.

Navigation.

Traffic: a common feature on many roads, but one that Porsche drivers can easily avoid. Thanks to real-time traffic data, your route is updated immediately, so in the event of any delays along the way, you will be redirected as necessary.

Charging Planner.

Efficient, especially when it comes to charging. Heading on a longer journey? The Charging Planner will calculate the optimal route for you, taking into account your current charge status and required charge time. This ensures you always take the fastest route, as the most convenient charging stations are selected to provide a seamless and efficient journey.

Connect App.
