Given the current disruptions to our normal routines, we understand that it may be difficult right now to bring your Porsche to one of our authorized dealerships for warranty service. Since your New Vehicle Limited Warranty has recently expired or is about to expire, we want to give you one less thing to worry about.

For your comfort and protection, the time limit on your New Vehicle Limited Warranty has been extended for an additional three months (the mileage limit under the warranty remains 50,000 miles).

For example, if your original New Vehicle Limited Warranty expiration date was March 25, 2020, your new expiration date will be June 25, 2020. This extension is automatic and requires no action on your part in order to activate it.

1. What exactly does the extension of warranty mean?

Due to the worldwide restrictions caused by Covid-19, every Porsche driver whose new vehicle warranty expires between March 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020 will receive a free extension of the new vehicle warranty for another three months, as long as the warranty did not already expire prior to this time due to reaching the 50,000 mile warranty limit.
Example: If the last day of your new vehicle warranty was on March 20, 2020 you will receive the extension for another three months until June 20, 2020. A new vehicle warranty ending on May 15, 2020 will be extended until August 15, 2020, etc. .

2. Which vehicles are covered by the extension of warranty?

All Porsche vehicles for which the new vehicle warranty expires between March 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020 receive the free extension of the new vehicle warranty for another three months.

3. I have a Porsche Approved Warranty (PAW) that was scheduled to start during the March-May period, immediately after the expiration of my new vehicle warranty. The PAW will now overlap with the extended new vehicle warranty. Do I lose this coverage from my PAW?

You will not lose any coverage. In effect, the first three months of the PAW, when the overlap occurs, will be added to the end of the warranty. For example, your original new car warranty expires April 30, 2020, and your PAW is scheduled to start May 1, 2020 and expire April 30, 2022. Your new car warranty will now expire July 30, 2020 and your PAW will run from August 1, 2020 until July 31, 2022.

4. How do I activate the extended warranty or make a claim under the new terms?

You do not have to do anything. The employees at your authorized Porsche dealership will be able to see the new warranty dates in our global warranty system, and will ensure that you are not charged for any eligible warranty repairs conducted during the extension period.

Warranty information

The warranty period begins on the date the first retail purchaser or the date it is first used as a demonstrator, lease, or company car, whichever comes first. The following periods apply:

  • 4 year / 50,000 mls (80,000 km) warranty for all new vehicles whichever occurs first*;
  • 2-year warranty for genuine Porsche parts, exchange parts and accessories, which are used or sold outside of warranty work. The warranty period for Porsche parts which are used in connection with warranty work ends contemporaneously with the warranty period for the purchased item which has become defective;
  • 12-year long-life warranty against rust perforation in the bodyshell. (please refer to the terms and conditions in the warranty handbook)

Certified Pre-Owned Warranty is 2 years / unlimited miles, once the vehicle is outside the original vehicle warranty period.

Warranty can be claimed from any Porsche partner across the world.

*Applies for vehicles purchased and registered in the USA and Canada (outside the USA and Canada 2 years / unlimited miles).

Tire Warranty from Tire Manufacturer
Limited Warranty

Original equipment tires on new Porsche vehicles are warranted by their respective manufacturer as detailed in the applicable tire manufacturer’s warranty statement. The terms and conditions of the tire manufacturer’s warranties are independently determined by the tire manufacturers without input from PCNA.

We recommend either contacting or visiting the specific tire manufacturer’s website, below, to ensure that you have the most current warranty information that applies to your tires.
